Czarakcziew and Jazz Cats is a quartet that has been exploring the boundaries of jazz since 2020, adding a unique element of the cello to this fascinating musical narrative. The ensemble, comprised of young yet experienced musicians, stands out with its original sound, blending classical and jazz with elements of film music, avant-garde, and experimental music. In their repertoire, alongside original compositions, you can find works from the era of American cool jazz by composers such as Fred Katz, Buddy Collette, and Chico Hamilton.
The members of the ensemble are graduates of the best music academies in Poland, who have achieved recognition in prestigious national and international competitions. They actively perform both solo and in various musical formations.
In 2023, the group recorded an album dedicated to the jazz pioneer of the cello, Fred Katz, at Hen House Studio in Los Angeles. This production, enriched by the participation of American musicians, is an expression of their fascination with the roots of jazz and experimentation with modern sounds.
